Welcome to the Fort Hays State University chapter of AAUP (American Association of University Professors). AAUP began with a purpose of protecting the free speech rights of academics speaking out against government actions in the dark days of WWI. Since then, AAUP has worked diligently to protect academic freedom and shared governance; define professional values and standards; promote the economic security of those who teach and research in higher education; organize to make AAUP goals a reality, and ensure higher education’s contribution to the common good.
